Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Thursday, February
20, 1986 at 1 :00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario

Council met with the Township Road's Superintendent to set the new hours for the roads crew

Bf'sollJtioo 86-54 was passed as follows:
" That the normal work week for the Road's Department be set at 7:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays".
CQun!;;il then ~kUS~ the resignation of the Building Inspector. Council met with Mr. J. Oakley.
Resolution 86-55 was passed as follows:
" That James Oakley be hired as Full Time Fire Chief, Building INspector and By-Law Enforcemen
Officer at a salary of $24,000.00 per year, plus benefits, to be effective March 17, 1986.
And that Mr. Oakley shall supply a vehicle and be paid at the Township mileage rate".

regarding three tax registered lots in the Medonte Hills Subdivision.
Resolution 86- 56 J&!as passed as follows:
" That Council approves of a conversion of assessment from commercial public to residential
public in the amount of $2100., Roll No. 4-174-03, from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31/85 and for all
of 1986, re Edward J. Smith, as business ceased on this property in Sept./85".
Resolution 86- 57 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of a cancellation of business public assessment in the amount of $630.,
Roll 4-174-03-0006, Brenda Smallwood & Ella Smith, from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31/85 and for all
of 1986, as business ceased on this property".
Resolution 86-58 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of a cancellation of residential public assessment in the amount of
$13,950., Roll 9-043, Marilyn Derrick, for all of 1986 due to a gross error in compiling
the 1986 tax roll".
Council met with Mr. J. Rumble, Hillsdale Police Village Trustee regarding request from
abutting land owners to purchase a unopen road allowance.
ResollJtion 8h- '29... was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of selling the unopen road allowance between Mill Street and Ann
Street at a price of $8,000.00 to the interested parties subject that they pay all costs
associated and subject to the terms of the Municipal Act; and that the revenue be used
by the Police Village for streetlights and sidewalks".

Council al?proved of repairing the Township Waste Site machine.
The ClerlL.p~sen1e.d~ a request from a developer to change the proposed subdivision agreement
for Plan M-123 to have each lot on an individual well. Council agreed to meet with the
developer to discuss the matter.

" That Council recommends file B-2/86 for approval".
