COUNCIL CHAMBERS - APRIL 10, 1980
TENTH MEETING
. Council met this evening at 7:30 p.m., pursuant to adjournment. With
all members present except Councillor Clarence Smith.
Reeve Howard A. Campbell in the chair.

Presented copies of letters forwarded as instructed, at the last regular
meeting to:
Trustees Hawkestone Police Village - forwarding summary prepared by Township
Auditors to clarify deficit shown on 1979 Financial Statement for the Police
Village;
Skelton, Brumwell and Associates Ltd. re: Big Cedar Parks Ltd. forwarding
copies of applications for approval of water works and sewage works for Big
Cedar Parks Ltd. for their forwarding to the Ministry of the Environment;
R. F. Carney, P.Eng., Ministry of Transportation and Communications forwarding
request for Supplementary Subsidy OD-MR-27 and supporting program OB-MR-28,
for an amount of $41,250.00 subsidy money requiring a total program of
$75,000.00 for reconstruction of 15/16 side road, consisting of grading and
gravelling to prepare same for a hardtop;
The Hon. Lorne Maeck, Minister, Ministry of Revenue forwarding a letter of
petition to proceed to return an Assessment Roll for 1981 Taxation - Section 86
of the Assessment Act;
Barrie and District Association for the Mentally Retarded - Municipal Grant
for 1980;
Mr. Alfred Asimi, Ph.D. re: Line 8 north of County Road No. 11 advising that
the problem will be further reviewed after spring road inspections;
Wayne Dowswell re: Line 12, south of County Road 22, regarding drainage advising
that his letter be tabled until Road Supt. has had an opportunity to assess
the problem and reports back to Council on the matter;
Mrs. Mildred Tripp, Secretary-Treasurer, Jarratt Community Hall Committee advising
that a letter of resignation from John Hare, as member of the Hall Committee
had been received and accepted and requesting that Council be advised of a
replacement;
Mrs. Frances Sutton, report of the on-site meeting with Regional Engineer,
Railway Transport Committee;
Ainley & Associates Ltd. - advising Drainage Engineer, Charles W. Grant, P.Eng.
that the Drainage Report as presented on March 24, 1980 be referred back to
the Engineer, al so copies of said letter forwarded to all persons notified
of the March 24th meeting;
Ron Johnston Insurance forwarding damage claim from Earl Scott for damages
to car on Line 9, between County Road No. 11 and Side Road 15/16.
On motion of Sanderson and Swainson copies of letters as presented and forwarded
accepted as satisfactory and be placed on file for necessary reference.
Clerk advised that the Solicitor for Jo-Con Developments had contacted the
office and enquired as to Council's position with respect to issuance of Building
Permits for Phase I of Plan M-66, because of letter of March 5, 1980 forwarded
to Jo-Con Developments as a result of resolution of Council passed on
March 9, 1980.
On motion of McLean and Swainson that further to resolution of March 3, 1980 a
letter of clarification be forwarded to Jo-Con Developments, advising that building
permits applied for on Phase 1 of Plan M-66 will be dealt with in accordance with
the Subdividers Agreement and amendments thereto subject to all requirements
under the Township By-laws and Building By-law.

Clerk advised that as instructed at a meeting of Oro Council held on March 17,
1980 an advertisement had been placed in the Barrie Examiner and Orill ia Packet
requesting applications from person or persons to carry out the duties as
Caretaker of Oro Memorial Park. The ad had appeared in two issues of both

The matter of fence around fairgrounds as proposed by Oro Agricultural Society was
brought to the attention of Council by the Reeve for consideration.
On motion of Mclean and Sanderson, that the Oro Agricultural Society be advised that
Ora Council will supply the materials for a new fence around the fairgrounds
property along the south side and portion of the east side, approximately 1100 feet.
Material to consist of 9 line wire fence and posts and barbed wire along top,
provided that the Agricultural Society erect the said fence.
On motion of Swainson and Sanderson, ajourn to meet again on Wednesday, April 16, 1980.
