01 15 1990 Public Minutes THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING MONDAY, JANUARY 15, 1990 @ 7:30 P.M. - COUNCIL CHAMBERS SEVENTY-FOURTH MEETING 1988-1991 COUNCIL The following members of Council were present: Reeve Robert E. Drury Deputy Reeve David Caldwell Councillor David Burton Councillor Alastair Crawford Councillor Allan Johnson Also present were: Mr. Ron Watkin, Ms. Beverly Nicolson, Mr. Vandersande, D. Hill, R. Tuir, Mr. Mike Vass Mr. Richard McGurrin, J. Madden, Mr. Ivan Clark, Mr. Peter Wigham, Mrs. Winnifred Stewart, J. Rollins, Mr. Stan Attenborough, Mr. John Hare, Mr. Robert Swerdon, Mr. Caldwell, Mr. Jim Knox, Mr. Lorne Borgal, Mr Gary Slatter, and Once Member of the Press. Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting. Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those present that this Public Meeting has been called pursuant to Section 34 (12) of the Planning Act, to obtain public comments respect to the proposed application. The applicant has applied rezone lands described as Part of the West Half of Lot 22, Concession 3, in the Township of Oro. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on December 12, 1989, to all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands. The notice was recirculated on December 18th, 1989, to correct an in the map and clarify the location. To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the Public Township Staff and requested Agencies, within the appropriate period, will Council make a decision on this application. The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that correspondence had been received from the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority indicating that they had no objection to this proposal. The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed zoning By-Law Amendment. Reeve Robert E. Drury then turned the meeting over to Township Planner, Ms. Beverly Nicolson, to explain the purpose and effect the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment. Beverly Nicolson: This Public Meeting is being held with respect to a rezoning of lands which are described as Part of the West Half of 22, in Concession 3. (Clarke) The parcel that is being rezoned was granted a condition of the Committee of Adjustment as a retirement lot for a farmer. II :1 I # i , I - 2 - i II II 1 II !I The purpose of the amendment will be to change the zoning on the property from Agricultural to Rural Residential to recognize the residential use of the property. The effect of this will be to meet a condition of the Committee of Adjustment which they made in granting the Residential Retirement Lot. The Reeve after inquiring and ascertaining that there were no further questions from those present, thanked those in attendance for their participation and advised Council would consider all matters before reaching a decision. He also advised those present that if they wished to be notified of the passing of the proposed By-Law, they should leave their name and address with the Clerk. MOTION NO.
