Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting has been called pursuant to
Section 34 (12) of the Planning Act, to obtain public comments
with respect to the proposed application. The applicant has
applied to rezone lands, described as Part Lot 25, Concession 10,
Part 1 of 51R9772, in the Township of Oro.
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro has
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
a Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
I Public, Township Staff and requested Agencies within an
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on February 7, 1990,
to all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Township Planner
responded by indicating that correspondence had been received from
the Simcoe County District Health Unit, giving approval for the
septic system and well.
The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then turned the meeting over to the Township
Planner, Ms. Beverly Nicolson, who explained the purpose and
effect of the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Beverly Nicolson:
This application is for Part of Lot 25,
Concession 10, and also known as Part Ion
a Reference Plan. The application is for
a conversion rezoning which changes the
permitted uses on the land from a seasonal
dwelling in the shoreline residential zone
to a permanent use on the property and
that will be to a general residential
zone.

Beverly Nicolson:
The criteria that has been established by
the Township and the policies to allow
these conversions, require that the lots
have a minimum lot frontage, lot area and
Health Unit approval. The minimum lot
frontage requirement is 50 feet and the lot
area requirement is 11,000 square feet.
This particular property has 100 feet of
lot frontage and 17,000 square feet of lot
area, so they are within the requirements.
Further, we have received a comment from
the Health Unit that they had approved the
septic system in 1987.
The effect of this proposal tonight, will
be to change the zoning on the property
from shoreline residential to general
residential and to permit permanent
residential use.
The Reeve, after inquiring and ascertaining that there were no
questions from those present, thanked those in attendance for
their participation and advised Council would consider all matters
before reaching a decision.
He also advised those present that if they wished to be notified
of the passing of the proposed By-Law, they should leave their
name and address with the Clerk.
MOTION NO.1
Moved by Johnson, seconded by Burton
Be it resolved that the Special Public Meeting
of Council (Rogerson) now be adjourned @ 7:18 p.m.
