THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO
SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING
MONDAY, APRIL 2, 1990. @ 7:00 P.M. - COUNCIL CHAMBERS
EIGHTY-EIGHTH MEETING 1988-1991 COUNCIL
The following members of Council were present:
Reeve Robert E. Drury
Deputy Reeve David Caldwell
Councillor Alastair Crawford
Councillor Allan Johnson
Absent:
Councillor David Burton
Also present were:
Ms. Beverly Nicolson, Mr. Earl Lauder, Mr.
Bidwell, Ms. Lois Birnie, Mrs. Jacquie Besse,
Mr. Robert Besse, Mr. Nelson Robertson, Mr.
Robertson, Mr. Jim Cowe, Mrs. Shirley Woodrow
and One Member of the Press.
Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting has been called pursuant to
34 (12) of the Planning Act, to obtain public comments with
to the proposed application. The applicant has applied to rezone
lands described as Part of Lot 9, Concession 5, in the Township of
Oro.
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro have
not made a decision on this application other than proceeding to a
Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the Public,
Township Staff and requested Agencies within an appropriate time
period, will Council make a decision on this application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on March 13, 1990, to
all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
The Reeve then asked the Clerk, if there had been any
received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating
correspondence had been received from the Nottawasaga Valley
Conservation Authority, indicating that they had no objection to
this proposal, but requesting a copy of the decision.
The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then turned the meeting over to Township
Planner, Ms. Beverly Nicolson, to explain the purpose and effect
the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Beverly Nicolson:
The lands we are discussing are described as
Part of Lot 9, in Concession 5. They are
by Earl Lauder. The proposal is to rezone
property which is currently zoned
to Rural Residential. The reason
application is before Council and the Public
this evening is because the Committee of
Adjustment granted a retirement lot for a
Bonifide Farmer and one of the conditions of
granting that severance was that the lot be
rezoned to reflect the proposed use, which is
residential use. The effect of the rezoning
will be to meet the condition of the
and allow it to be completed.

The Reeve, after inquiring and ascertaining that there were no
questions from those present, thanked those in attendance for their
participation and advised Council would consider all matters before
reaching a decision.
He also advised those present that if they wished to be notified of
the passing of the proposed By-Law, they should leave their name and
address with the Clerk.
