2023-038 By-law to Amend By-law No. 2010-075, being a By-law to Regulate Signs and ther Advertising Devices.The Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte By-law No. 2023-038 A By-law to Amend By-law No. 2010-075, being a By-law to Regulate Signs and other Advertising Devices. Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, Section 11 authorizes a municipality to pass by-laws respecting signs; And Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, Section 99 provides that all costs and charges incurred by a municipality for the removal, care and storage of an advertising device that is erected or displayed in contravention of a by-law of the municipal are a lien on the advertising device, and all costs and charges incurred for disposing of an advertising device may be recovered by the municipality as a debt owned by the owner of the device; And Whereas Part XIV of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, confers broad authority on municipalities to inspect lands at any reasonable time and to take such necessary enforcement actions as are required to ensure ongoing compliance with a municipality's by-laws; And Whereas the Council of the Corporation of The Township of Oro-Medonte did, on the 15th day of May, 2010, enact By-law No. 2010-075, as amended. Being a By-law to Regulate Signs and other Advertising Devices. And Whereas the Council of the Corporation of The Township of Oro-Medonte deems it appropriate to regulate signs and other advertising devices and the posting of notices on buildings, vacant lots or property of public utilities within the Township of Oro- Medonte; Now Therefore the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte hereby enacts as follows: 1. That Section 5.1.2 of By-law No. 2010-075 as amended, as shown below, be deleted in its entirety. "5.1.2 A Zoning Certificate obtained from the Township's Planning Division;" 2. That the numbering of all sections be adjusted accordingly. 3. This by-law shall take effect on the final passing thereof.
