Opening of the Meeting by the Deputy Clerk: The Deputy Clerk called the meeting to order. 2. Selection of Chairperson: a) Motion for Selection of a Chairperson. Motion No. CSY180326-1 Moved by Bob Gregory, Seconded by Edna Caldwell It is recommended that the Chairperson for the 2018 Citizen/Senior of the Year Advisory Group meeting be Lu LaFrance as voted by the Advisory Group. Motion No. CSY180326-2 Moved by Isabel Shepard, Seconded by Darlene van Oorschot It is recommended that the agenda for the 2018 Citizen/Senior of the Year Advisory Group meeting of Monday, March 27, 2017 be received and approved. Carried. 4. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting: a) Minutes of meeting held on Monday, March 27, 2017. Motion No. CSY180326-3 Moved by Marilyn Gregory, Seconded by Walter Iles It is recommended that the draft minutes of the 2017 Citizen/Senior of the Year Advisory Group meeting held on Monday, March 27, 2017 be received and approved as printed and circulated. Carried. 5. Voting Procedure: a) General Voting Procedure. The voting procedure was reviewed. 6. Presentation of Nomination and Discussion, re: Oro-Medonte Citizen of the Year Nominees: a) Motion to open discussion of nominations. Motion No. CSY180326-4 Moved by Betty Veitch, Seconded by Darlene van Oorschot It is recommended that the Advisory Group have an open discussion with respect to the 2018 Oro-Medonte Citizen of the Year nominations. Motion No. CSY180326-5 Moved by Bob Gregory, Seconded by June Sanderson It is recommended that the discussion with respect to the nominations for the 2018 Oro- Medonte Citizen of the Year be closed and further that the vote take place. Carried. 7. Voting: a) Motion to Council to recommend 2018 Oro-Medonte Citizen of the Year. Motion No. CSY180326-6 Moved by Marilyn Gregory, Seconded by Joan Banbury It is recommended to Council that Ruth Fountain be nominated as the 2018 Oro-Medonte Citizen of the Year as voted by the Advisory Group. Carried. b) Motion to destroy ballots. Motion No. CSY180326-7 Moved by Walter Iles, Seconded by Yeb Jermey It is recommended that the 2018 Oro-Medonte Citizen of the Year ballots be destroyed. Carried. 8. Presentation of Nomination and Discussion, re: Senior of the Year Nominees: Motion No. CSY180326-8 Moved by Edna Caldwell, Seconded by Pat Shellswell It is recommended to Council that Charles and Nancy Drury be nominated as the 2018 Ontario Senior of the Year as voted by the Advisory Group.
