Municipalities are authorized to prepare and approve a By -law or By-

as provided in the said Colonization Roads Act, and upon the completion of
a work of road improvement in pursuance of the aforesaid Act, or at any
time during the progress thereof, and a st'aterlcat has been submitted by
Lice Council of the Municipality undertaking the work, to the Department
Of Yortltene Development, setting forth the cost to date, tog¢ther with the
Dedartaket of the Treasarer Of the said Municipality that such statement
is correct, and on the receipt by the Per.- :prcal Treasurer of such State-
ment and Deolaration, with a Report , I Certificate of the Inspector of
Colonization Reads for the district ht atich the work is situated, or are
engineer of the Department, that. As acid .cork is in accordance with
the aforesaid fly -law, and the regulations of the Department of Nnrtheni
Development, ettlified -ad approved by the proper officer of the Depart-
ment of northern Deveopment, the Lieutenant- Goeernor in -Gnmdl may
direct the payment to such Municipal Corporation, as aforesaid, out of the -
funda voted by the Legislature for thai purpose, a sum not more dma t"'o
