REPORTS OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS: a) Shawn Binns, Director of Recreation and Community Services, memorandum correspondence dated May 6, 2009 re: High Level Analysis of Options for Oro-Medonte Community Arena. Motion No. C090513-4 Moved by Allison, Seconded by Coutanche Be it resolved that 1. The memorandum correspondence dated May 6, 2009 and presented by Shawn Binns, Director of Recreation and Community Services, re: High Level Analysis of Options for Oro-Medonte Community Arena be received. 2. That Option 2, outlined in the Assessment of Options for the Provision of Indoor Ice Facilities, prepared by The RETHINK Group and Aecom Canada Architects Ltd., to replace the current facility and further investigate the feasibility of such a facility, as well as to pursue the minimum level of repairs to continue to keep the current Arena operation in the short term, be approved. 3. And Further That staff be authorized to proceed with the Facility Feasibility component of the Strategic Facility plan. Carried. b) Shawn Binns, Director of Recreation and Community Services, memorandum correspondence re: Warminster Community Hall [to be distributed at meeting]. The memorandum correspondence dated May 13, 2009 and presented by Shawn Binns, Director of Recreation and Community Services, re: Warminster Community Hall be received. 2. That Warminster Community Hall be retired as a public facility. 3. That staff investigate future options for the retired facility and report back to Council. 4. And Further That the members of the Warminster Hall Board be recognized for their contributions to the community. Carried. Report No. CS 2009-013, Doug Irwin, Director of Corporate Services/Clerk, re: Information Technology Update be received and adoted. 2. That staff be authorized to proceed with the acquisition of a new file server as outlined in Report No. CS 2009-013, and that the funds be allocated from the Working Fund Reserve. 3. That staff bring forward recommendations on the lifecycles of the Township's information technology hardware for Council's consideration. 4. And That staff bring forward estimates for the replacement of the Tax server and the ID card printer for consideration during the 2010 budget deliberations. Hughes, re: Request for Support, Motion, Provincial Harmonized Sales Tax be received. 2. That the Township of Oro-Medonte supports the City of Cornwall's resolution to appeal to the Provincial Government to exempt items related to the rental of recreation facilities and registration fees for minor sports to ensure that all youth are able to afford to participate. 3. And Further That Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario, Garfield Dunlop, MPP Simcoe North and the City of Cornwall be advised, under the Mayor's signature, of Council's decision. Carried. b) Mayor H.S. And Further That, in accordance with the March 26, 2009 letter from George Smitherman, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the Township of Oro-Medonte submit a request for a one year extension until June 2010 to complete the Official Plan review and conformity exercise.
